In September of this year, the mining industry's workforce reached a total of 277,747 workers, of which only 10% were women........

According to data provided by Sernageomin's monthly cadastre. The report highlights that the average between July and September of this year is estimated at 275,811 workers in the productive area.

The National Director of Sernageomin, Alfonso Domeyko, explained that the figures show an 8.9% increase in employability "of which 212,866 correspond to contractor companies and 64,881 to principals", and an increase of 16.8% between 2018 and 2021. In addition, the director added the increase is due, among other factors, to projects such as El Teniente, which has had an increase of 3,000 people in its staffing; Pelambres with 1,500; or TEK, which from July to September has had a permanent increase of 2,000 people.
